Meet Dr. Morse
Hi & nice to meet you!
I am Dr. Emily Morse, ND, owner, doctor, and founder of Joyspring Wellness.
I’ve always been passionate about agriculture and how the health of land, animals, and people are intertwined. My childhood dream was to become a veterinarian. While taking livestock physiology classes in college at Missouri State, I realized I was more interested in how we can apply the same intention we use with hormones and nutrition for farm animals to human health. After a record-breaking 3-hour vet internship at the Dickerson Park Zoo, I switched to a pre-med track. Graduated 2017 magna cum laude.
While studying for my MCAT exam, I stumbled upon naturopathic medicine online. At first, I was skeptical, but after reading the principles and therapeutic order, I knew that this profession aligned with my values. I applied to Sonoran University of Health Sciences in Phoenix, Arizona (formerly Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine) and graduated in 2022.
Past Experience
In my senior year of college, I worked as a nurse’s aide on the hospice/oncology floor of a major hospital system. There, I witnessed death and grief: the best and worst of the human spirit when faced with incredible adversity. I loved my patients and their families, as well as the wonderful nurses who mentored me in bedside manner and caring for the vulnerable.
I then became an ER Tech in a rural ER. Again, I saw more deaths as well as the toll of chronic lifestyle, disease, and mental health crises.
While in school & during these experiences, I shifted my focus to women’s health, community medicine, mental health, and integrative oncology.
My “Why”
After spending time on the conventional side of medicine, I knew that I wanted to be able to offer more for my patients: more healing modalities, more time discussing their concerns, more bodily autonomy, and more time for education.
Naturopathic medicine allowed me to learn how to offer all this. My dream is to help guide your health holistically so you can live a vibrant, joy-filled life.
If you can heal a woman, you can heal a family. By healing a woman, a ripple effect can spread throughout a family. There is power in a spiritually, mentally, and physically strong woman. Using the tools of naturopathic medicine, I want to help you heal so that you can have the vitality to live out your purpose and create a catalyst of healing in your loved ones.
